It Is Love
The rain on my window
is drawing your eyes -
in sailing colours
of water and light.
Time is a feather
rising with the dawn,
and distance a leaf
that turns in the wind.
It is love
in the space between us.
It is love in the promise within.
We touched the earth and released the sky,
into unchained fields of faith and wings.
We climbed the mountains and gave up our names,
carving our hearts into the mist of the sun.
Your eyes held the storm to cradle the rain,
and left the world turning in the stillness of us.

Fog
where the fog
builds its hazy
walls around
the city that
does not know
how it is circled
in white air
floating free
on earth
to emerge
maybe never
again

More Than We Were Told
Come and follow me
up on the tree in our garden.
Let us watch the sunrise
moving with the sea.
Do we really know
all the colours of the ocean,
or how a desert wind
carries the snow?
There’s more than we were told -
we can only go that far.
Knowing how to love
is knowing who we are.
No map can hold it all -
the wonders, tales, and places
where the hills touch the sky
and bring the light to fall.
Where do our shadows go?
Do they grieve when parting?
Can the earth become
where our tears flow?
I’ll write them down—
the words for you
that need to be forever.
The scent of rain paints every stroke
on paper made of ember.
Lyrics by Susan Be., from the album "Love Letters", 2025.
